Overview of Les 7 Laux
Les 7 Laux extends across three complementary slopes: Prapoutel (the largest, family and service-oriented), Pipay (wilder, geared towards sport) and Le Pleynet (on the Haut-Breda valley side, in the heart of more preserved nature). At Prapoutel, you find the resort centre, with a lively ski area base, shops, restaurants, ski schools, residences and a spa. The architecture is typical of 1970s resorts, with modernised functional buildings, as well as newer timber-and-stone chalets. Le Pleynet, more intimate, offers a more rustic setting away from the activity. The three sites are independent by road but connected on skis via the ski area. In summer, each offers direct access to trails and lakes. This geographical diversity gives the resort a genuine wealth of landscapes and atmospheres, well suited to different holiday profiles.

In summer, Les 7 Laux is a dynamic nature destination. At Prapoutel, families find a range of activities: pumptrack, mini-golf, tree-top adventure courses, a pool, rail sledging and themed walks. Three chairlifts (Chamois, Bouquetins and Pincerie) are open in summer, providing quick access to the Belledonne ridges. From Le Pleynet, you can also access the Lacs des 7 Laux — a gem of the massif. The Pleynet sector attracts walkers with routes to the high pastures, the Col du Mouchillon and the waterfalls. The bike park, well regarded in the Northern Alps, offers several tracks (green to black), well-maintained and well-designed. Yoga sessions, climbing initiation courses and naturalist outings complete an active but accessible offering. The atmosphere remains relaxed, never overcrowded, with a genuinely local and family clientele.

In winter, Les 7 Laux deploys one of the largest ski areas in the Isere, with 120 km of runs across the three slopes. The ski area is renowned for its steep vertical drops, fast runs, freeride sector (Belle Etoile, Vallons du Pra), but also for its modernity: new gondolas, extensive snowmaking and efficient lifts. Prapoutel welcomes the majority of beginners, with a fun area, carpet lifts and progressive runs. Pipay is the paradise for sporty skiers and freeriders. Le Pleynet offers more contemplative skiing, with views of the Belledonne summits. The diversity of terrain allows skiing without monotony, whatever your level. The atmosphere is young and dynamic without being elitist. Each November, the resort opens with the first snowfalls. The layout is appreciated for its technical and sporting character, while remaining accessible to Nordic skiers of all levels. A pedestrian and snowshoe area is also marked, with routes towards the Col du Merdaret and the surrounding Cucheron forests. The atmosphere is calm, far from the bustle of the alpine ski area. Initiation sessions, night outings and occasional events are offered by the ski school.
