It is also a starting point for the famous Chartreuse Traverse and has a wide choice of snowshoe routes. The ski area’s 42 km of groomed trails for both classic and skating technique cater for all Nordic skiers. Beginners can learn on easy loops such as Les Sagnes (2.5 km) or Planibert (2.5 km). More experienced skiers appreciate longer and more technical routes through forests and meadows, such as the Saint Eynard (9 km) or Pale de Fer (9 km) trails, offering panoramic views. For long-distance Nordic skiers, the Sappey is the starting point for the Chartreuse Traverse — a 25 km route linking to the Saint Hugues ski area via the Col de l’Emeindras.
