Closed for a few years, the site of the former “Ermitage Frère Joseph” resort is at the heart of an ambitious transformation project to become the “Domaine de Montagne”, a 5-star hotel complex focused on a four-season experience. Overview of Ventron
The former Ventron resort — known as the Ermitage Frere Joseph — was a popular family destination for convivial skiing. Following its closure, a new chapter opens with the Domaine de Montagne project. The ambition is to create a luxury resort, open year-round, harmoniously integrated into its forest environment. The heart of the project is a 5-star hotel of around fifty rooms and suites, complemented by prestige chalets. Open since summer 2025, it offers a spa of over 1,000 m2 with pools, a gastronomic restaurant and a bistro. Skiing will not be abandoned, but reimagined. The former ski lifts have been dismantled to make way for a gentle ski offering: a modernised and deliberately limited alpine ski area, with a few drag lifts and a carpet, designed for learning and the pleasure of hotel guests. The emphasis will be on a global experience where sliding becomes one of many activities offered, alongside snowshoeing, tobogganing, ski touring and wellness.
