A ski-in ski-out resort par excellence, Super-Besse is organised around its ski area base and the Lac des Hermines. Born in the 1960s, its architecture is functional, designed for direct access to the slopes and shops. It is a very lively resort, particularly popular with families for its practicality and the concentration of its activities. The ski area, south-east facing, benefits from excellent sunshine. Its runs are mainly wide and well-maintained, ideal for beginner to intermediate skiers. The resort has invested massively in snowmaking (70% of the ski area covered), ensuring good skiing conditions throughout the season. The great asset of Super-Besse is its very well-developed off-slope offering. When weather conditions allow, the link to the Mont-Dore resort via the Sancy ridges opens access to the largest ski area in the Massif Central, offering more technical skiing and different landscapes.
