Saint-Lary is a multi-faceted resort, organised around its lively village and its vast high-altitude ski area. The village of Saint-Lary (830 m) is the vibrant heart of the destination, with its animated main street, shops, restaurants and thermal centre. Two lifts — the Pic de Lumiere gondola and the cable car — link it in a few minutes to the ski area. Higher up, the Pla d’Adet resort allows ski-in ski-out skiing at altitude. The ski area — one of the largest in the Pyrenees — consists of three linked sectors: Pla d’Adet (1,700 m): the historic and family sector, a true ski-in ski-out base with numerous residences, ski schools, snow gardens and wide green and blue runs. Espiaube (1,900 m): a quieter intermediate sector with long blue and red runs winding through forest — ideal for leisurely skiing. Vallon du Portet (2,400 m): the high-altitude sector, wilder and sportier, offering challenging black runs, superb freeride routes and a 360-degree panorama over the Pyrenees National Park and the Neouvielle massif.

The Saint-Lary ski area is one of the largest and most complete in the Pyrenees. With 100 km of runs across 100 hectares, it offers a unique skiing experience through its organisation into three distinct sectors, each with its own atmosphere and character. Saint-Lary 1700 (Pla d’Adet) is the sunny balcony of the resort, directly accessible from the village by the new gondola and cable car. It is the quintessential family sector with its ski-in ski-out base, children’s snow garden, Kidpark and numerous green and blue runs forming a safe and fun cocoon for beginners and children. The Espiaube sector (1,900 m) is a transition space plunging skiers into a more forested atmosphere — the realm of balade skiing and long descents with mythical runs like the blue Mirabelle (over 3 km). Intermediate and experienced skiers will find superb technical red runs winding through the firs. The Vallon du Portet sector (to 2,515 m) represents Saint-Lary’s high-mountain slope — wild and open with a 360-degree panorama over the Pyrenees National Park and the border range.
