Overview of Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a multi-hub resort articulated around six sites between 1,200 m (Villaroger) and 2,000 m (Arc 2000). Arc 1600 is the oldest, conceived in the spirit of 1960s mountain architecture. Arc 1800 concentrates entertainment and facilities. Arc 1950, created in 2003, offers a polished alpine setting with upmarket residences. Arc 2000 targets sporty skiers. Villaroger, more discreet, offers rural charm at the foot of demanding runs. All sites are pedestrian or partially closed to traffic, with a strong architectural identity.

In summer, Les Arcs becomes a vast playground for gentle mountain lovers. Family or sporty hikes, downhill mountain biking from the Aiguille Rouge, paragliding, an 18-hole golf course at Arc 1800, a pool and tree-top adventure courses. Children enjoy clubs and summer activities in a safe, green setting. People also come for the coolness and high-altitude landscapes with views of Mont Blanc. The funicular provides quick access from Bourg-Saint-Maurice, for a day trip or a longer stay.

In winter, Les Arcs is a flagship destination in the Alps. The Paradiski domain is one of the largest in Europe, with runs for all levels, from cross-country skiing to forest snowshoeing. The skiing is sporty, with long descents such as the Aiguille Rouge to Villaroger (1,100 m of vertical drop). At Arc 1800, beginners follow a progressive learning path. There are also giant toboggan runs and children’s areas. The resort also lends itself to relaxation: spas, shopping, mountain restaurants — all with panoramas of Mont Blanc.
