Les 2 Alpes stretches lengthwise across a vast gently sloping plateau, between 1,650 and 1,800 m, from Mont-de-Lans to Venosc. The resort is composed of two large parallel axes, organised around the pedestrian, commercial and lively Avenue de la Muzelle, lined with residences, hotels and restaurants. The architecture is contrasting: 1970s buildings sit alongside more recent timber-and-stone residences, with an ongoing upgrade and clear move upmarket. The centre is dense and active, but easily walkable. At its extremities, the Alpe de Venosc and Les Demoiselles districts offer more calm. Access to the ski area is smooth thanks to several gondolas and chairlifts, including the recently rebuilt Jandri Express, leading directly to the glacier. Below, the village of Venosc — linked by gondola — offers a more village-like and authentic atmosphere. A dense but well-designed resort, Les 2 Alpes provides all services within easy reach.

From June to September, Les 2 Alpes is a major mountain biking destination, with a bike park ranked among the best in Europe: technical descents, enduro, active ski lifts, mountain biking schools, a pumptrack. The resort regularly hosts international events such as the Mountain of Hell. Walkers enjoy iconic routes on the heights above the resort, towards the Lacs de la Muzelle, the Emparis plateau or towards La Berarde. Trail running is encouraged with marked routes. The glacier allows skiing until July, depending on conditions — a rarity in the Alps. In winter, Les 2 Alpes deploys an alpine ski area with an impressive vertical drop — from the glacier at 3,600 m down to the village of Mont-de-Lans at 1,300 m. The skiing is fluid and varied, with long uninterrupted runs — up to 2,300 m of descent in one go. Beginners evolve on the wide high-altitude runs, while experienced skiers head to the more technical slopes or venture towards La Grave and the Meije valleys (depending on conditions, with a guide and a specific pass). The snowpark — considered one of the best in Europe — attracts amateur and professional freestylers alike. The apres-ski offering is dense: bars, concerts, sporting events, shops open late. A few lively pubs on the slopes, as in other major ski resorts.

The Les 2 Alpes ski area extends across 220 km of runs in the heart of the Oisans massif in Isere. It is characterised by a marked verticality and important vertical drop, ranging from 1,300 to 3,600 m altitude — the highest ski run summit in France. One of its major features is its inverted configuration: the high-altitude sectors, particularly the glacier, offer wide and accessible runs, while the slopes descending to the resort are steeper and more technical. The new Jandri cable car, commissioned in December 2024, reaches 3,200 m altitude in 17 minutes, replacing older ski lifts with a faster and more efficient system. The ski area has 220 km of marked runs across 96 ski pistes. The glacier and snowmaking network ensure quality snow over a large part of the season — the runs are open from late November to July, making it France’s longest-season resort. Key sectors: the glacier at 3,600 m offers accessible high-altitude skiing for 7 months per year; the Fée sector has wilder terrain and steep slopes for experienced skiers; and the Vallée Blanche sector (Pied Moutet) offers rolling, very sunny runs with technical return descents. For expert skiers, off-piste links to La Grave are possible. The snowpark, at 2,600 m in winter and moved to 3,200 m in spring, has multiple zones for all levels: Easy Park for initiation, Park Avenue and Park de l’Envers for intermediate and advanced, and Big Air with a daily-maintained half-pipe for experts. Night skiing runs every Wednesday evening, and from February onwards, sunset skiing at 3,400-3,200 m is available.
