Le Revard, perched at 1,537 metres altitude, is one of the oldest winter sports resorts in the Alps. Part of the Savoie Grand Revard area, it forms with La Féclaz and Saint-François-de-Sales a shared alpine and Nordic ski area. Easily accessible from Aix-les-Bains or Chambéry, Le Revard benefits from an exceptional panoramic location: from the viewpoint, the view takes in Lake Bourget, the Mont-Blanc massif and the Belledonne range. Le Revard retains the look of a high-altitude village resort with modest development, faithful to its history. It was here, at the very beginning of the 20th century, that the first tourists from Aix-les-Bains discovered skiing, arriving by rack railway to the summit. Today, the resort consists of a few chalet or Art Nouveau-style residences, scattered chalets and restaurants, all set around the main plateau, accessible by car. The atmosphere is tranquil, slightly old-fashioned but sincere — without heavy urbanisation or a massive ski area base. The Revard viewpoint, accessible in a few minutes on foot, remains a major attraction: it offers a spectacular view over the Lac du Bourget, the Chambery corridor and a large part of the Northern Alps. The architecture is functional, unpretentious and well integrated into a preserved forest environment.

Outside winter, Le Revard is one of the most visited sites in Savoie. The viewpoint attracts day visitors come to admire France’s largest natural lake, suspended at their feet. The Revard alpine ski area is part of Savoie Grand Revard, shared with La Feclaz. It extends across around twenty kilometres of runs between 1,350 and 1,500 metres altitude, mainly oriented towards beginners and leisure skiers. There are quiet blue and red runs, a well-equipped beginner area, a chairlift and several drag lifts, all in a relaxed atmosphere far from the large industrial resorts. Snow is generally good at the heart of the season thanks to the plateau microclimate. A single pass allows movement between the Revard and Feclaz sectors, facilitating transitions for families. Not a ski area for intensive skiing, but rather for learning, progressing at your own pace and enjoying the landscape while gliding gently.

This is the Savoie Grand Revard Nordic ski area — the most visited in France. Skiing takes place mainly through forest, with a little Canada feel. Only a few clearings — the Croix des Bergers sector and the southern plateau — allow skiing in the sunshine. The forest has the advantage of preserving snow better in mild weather. Snowshoe circuits, a pedestrian route, dog sledding and a biathlon area at La Feclaz complete the offering.
