Overview of Le Lioran

The Lioran resort is organised around its resort centre, Prairie des Sagnes (1,160 m) — a lively ski area base where shops, restaurants and the main ski lifts depart, including the Plomb du Cantal cable car. It is a ski-in ski-out resort, very convenient for families. The ski area is the largest in the Massif Central. It extends across several volcano slopes, offering great diversity of landscapes and runs that wind mainly through a magnificent fir forest. This forest setting offers sheltered skiing and a particular charm. The ski area is accessible to all levels: a vast beginner area is laid out on the prairie, while experienced skiers can enjoy the fine technical runs descending from the Plomb du Cantal (1,855 m) — the highest point of the ski area. The resort is also very well equipped with snowmaking, ensuring good skiing conditions all winter.

Le Lioran in summer

In summer, Le Lioran transforms into a large outdoor leisure base. The Plomb du Cantal cable car remains open for walkers, providing easy access to exceptional panoramas. The resort has a well-regarded Bike Park for downhill mountain biking, a summer sledge and numerous hiking trails. An ideal destination for discovering the unique landscapes of the Cantal volcano.

Le Lioran in winter

In winter, the resort offers a complete palette of activities. Alpine skiing is the star activity. The Nordic ski area, spread across two sites, is very popular. The resort also offers a large ice rink, dog sledding, snowshoe routes and the Deval’Luge rail sledge.

With 30 km trails groomed for classic and skating connected to Che domain (15 km trails), it suits all levels. Beginners enjoy easy plateau loops while experienced skiers escape on long technical forest routes. The site is also paradise for snowshoeing with marked trails exploring preserved nature.
