Just 30 minutes from Annecy, this beautiful village of 1,700 inhabitants is one of the rare resorts offering both a fine alpine ski area and a fine Nordic ski area. With its onion-domed bell tower, timber chalets covered in wooden shingles and lively streets, La Clusaz remains a genuine mountain village. The settlement spreads between 1,100 and 1,400 m altitude, between the busy village centre, the Balme and Les Confins slopes, and the Col des Aravis and Col de la Croix Fry roads. The sectors are well served by shuttles. The urban layout integrates into the landscape in the spirit of alpine hamlets. The La Clusaz and Manigod ski area rises to 2,600 metres altitude, across the valleys and ridges of the Aravis massif. It consists of 5 well-defined sectors: Balme for its great vertical drops, Aiguille for expert skiers, Beauregard for panoramas and beginners, Etale for more relaxed skiing, and Manigod — the family sector par excellence. In total, 125 km of varied, modern and well-maintained runs. In figures: 33 runs (4 green, 13 blue, 15 red, 1 black) and 14 ski lifts. The Manigod ski area, perched at 1,500 m, often has more reliable snow than the lower part of La Clusaz. The runs wind between valleys and ridges, through open landscapes. A key asset: night skiing, with 8 runs open in the evenings.
