Combloux is the very image of the postcard calendars of our childhood: a (rather chic) village of wooden chalets set on a balcony facing the Mont-Blanc massif. It’s also a village-style ski resort in a fairly open landscape. On the alpine skiing side, Combloux is linked to Megève and La Giettaz for 100km of slopes between 1,000 and 2,000 metres. On the Nordic side, Combloux offers just 5km of cross-country trails.

Overview of Combloux
This village of 2,100 inhabitants sits between the Arve valley and Megeve, on a mountain hillside facing the Mont Blanc massif. Its chalets and onion-domed bell tower set against a backdrop of eternal snows have made it an iconic alpine postcard scene. Tourism developed here early, at the start of the 1900s. Topped by a beautiful onion dome, its 18th-century Baroque church is one of the finest in the Alps. For alpine skiing, Combloux gives access to the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area — around one hundred kilometres of runs spread across Combloux, Megeve and La Giettaz. The village is often called the Balcony of Mont Blanc for its spectacular view.

In summer, Combloux offers a unique experience in the heart of the Mont Blanc area. Its ideal altitude guarantees a mild, sunny climate. The village stands out for its biotope lake, France’s first ecological natural swimming lake. Combloux has a large mid-altitude ski area linked to the runs of Megeve and La Giettaz. Its view of Mont Blanc is its main draw. Two free cross-country skiing trails offer 5.5 km of routes from the alpine ski area. Combloux has also strongly developed its ski touring offering in recent years, with ten ski touring routes across the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area.

The Evasion Mont-Blanc domain is one of France’s largest with nearly 450 km of runs, but its approach is unique. Rather than a single fully linked ski area, it is a collection of several magnificent ski areas, accessible with a common pass, organised around the iconic villages of Megeve, Saint-Gervais and their neighbours. It is an invitation to a-la-carte skiing, where you choose your atmosphere and playground each day. The skiing experience focuses primarily on two large linked sectors: the Heart of the Domain — Megeve/Saint-Gervais sector, the largest combined area, offering XXL linked skiing with exceptional panoramas over the Mont Blanc massif. It directly connects Saint-Gervais, Saint-Nicolas-de-Veroce and the main Megeve sectors (Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois). The atmosphere is bright, between wide high-pasture runs, forest descents and numerous well-regarded mountain restaurants. The Portes du Mont-Blanc sector — this second linked ski area, more intimate, offers 100 km of runs connecting the Jaillet sector (Megeve) to the village resorts of Combloux and La Giettaz. The skiing is gentler — a hop between charming alpine villages — with superb views over the Aravis massif and Mont Blanc. The bonus ski area: Les Contamines-Montjoie — the Evasion Mont-Blanc pass also includes access to the Contamines-Montjoie ski area. Note that this ski area is not ski-in ski-out linked to the others. Accessible by car or shuttle in a few minutes, it is renowned for its excellent snowfall and offers high-quality skiing in a wilder setting in the heart of the Nature Reserve.

Combloux, Megeve (Jaillet sector) and La Giettaz share a fine joint ski area facing Mont Blanc. At the foot of the Aravis, the Portes du Mont-Blanc totals 100 km of runs across 69 pistes. The shared ski area has 13 green, 18 blue, 30 red and 8 black runs. The ski area has 29 ski lifts, mainly drag lifts, as well as one gondola and 8 chairlifts. The highest point, the Tete du Torraz at 1,930 m, offers an exceptional 360-degree panorama over the surrounding massifs: the Aravis, Mont Blanc and the Beaufortain.
