Overview of Artouste

Artouste is a two-faced resort. The village, at 1,400 metres altitude beside the Lac de Fabreges, offers a peaceful setting with accommodation and shops. To access the ski area, visitors take the Sagette gondola, which transports them in a few minutes to the plateau at nearly 2,000 metres. This is where the heart of the resort unfolds — a space entirely dedicated to sliding and mountain activities. The ski area, though human in scale, is appreciated for the quality of its snow and the diversity of its runs winding through grandiose landscapes, facing the Pic du Midi d’Ossau. The absence of constructions at altitude preserves a sense of total immersion in nature. Artouste is also famous for its little train which, in summer, offers a spectacular journey along the mountainside to the Lac d’Artouste.

In summer, Artouste transforms into a nature and discovery destination. The flagship attraction is the little train which, following a gondola ride, takes visitors on a 50-minute journey at 2,000 metres altitude. It leads to a trail reaching the magnificent Lac d’Artouste, the starting point for numerous walks. The resort also offers mountain biking routes, water activities on the Lac de Fabreges (kayaking, paddleboarding) and a Mountain Kart for descending the slopes.
