The Piau-Engaly ski area is an invitation to nature skiing, in the heart of a high-mountain cirque guaranteeing exceptional snowfall. With 65 km of runs ranging from 1,850 to 2,600 m altitude, it offers a unique experience where natural relief is king. Far from artificial boulevards, the runs here hug the terrain curves, offering fluid and varied sliding. The domain is designed for logical progression. The ski area base is a vast beginner zone — one of the Pyrenees’ largest — where children and novices learn safely on gentle slopes and covered carpets, a true cocoon isolated from the flow of experienced skiers. For intermediate skiers, the domain’s heart offers numerous long and panoramic blue runs like the Pic de Piau, with unbeatable views over the National Park. Sportier skiers head to the Hourc sector with its technical red and black runs. What makes Piau famous are its freeride spaces. The resort pioneered securing and marking natural areas. The Badet Valley, accessible by chairlift, offers 1,200 m vertical in a wild valley — a unique secured off-piste experience.
