Alpine ski area — La Norma
The La Norma ski area, human-scale and in the heart of Savoie, deploys 65 kilometres of runs between 1,350 and 2,750 m altitude. Its main asset lies in its north-west facing aspect, which guarantees excellent snow quality throughout the season. The ski area offers varied terrain, first winding through a magnificent larch forest before opening onto panoramic high-altitude pastures. With a 1,400 m vertical drop, La Norma’s 27 runs (7 green, 7 blue, 11 red and 2 black) are served by 13 ski lifts (1 gondola, 5 chairlifts and 6 drag lifts). Families and intermediate skiers particularly appreciate the wide blue and red forest runs. More technical and expert skiers head naturally to the upper ski area, peaking at 2,750 m, with steeper slopes, demanding black runs and an exceptional panorama over the Vanoise summits and the Arc valley. The resort is also a recognised freeride spot, particularly in the Avenieres sector. La Norma has well-integrated learning and new-discipline spaces. A dedicated, easy-access beginner area is at the ski area base, in the heart of this car-free resort. The ski area also has the Norma Park (snowpark), a boardercross and a timing zone. Alternative sliding enthusiasts can also enjoy the Norma Loops toboggan piste, accessible directly from the alpine ski area. The La Norma lift pass includes a direct free shuttle link to neighbouring Valfrejus — allowing skiers to enjoy two ski areas for the price of one. The 6-day (and over) Haute Maurienne Vanoise pass further extends the playground to 350 km of runs, with one day each at Aussois, Val Cenis, Bessans and Bonneval-sur-Arc.
