The Somport-Candanchu Nordic domain is a magnificent transborder space between France and Spain, in the Pyrenees National Park’s heart, at 1,600-1,700 m altitude. This domain offers an exceptional 34 km cross-country trail network perfectly groomed, distributed across 9 all-level runs from green to red and even a black for confirmed cross-country skiers. Renowned runs include Le Grand Tetras (3.75 km), Le Causiat (1.75 km), Le Candanchu (5.1 km) plus fun and initiation runs. Beyond cross-country skiing, the domain has over 5 km marked snowshoe routes inviting winter-hiking lovers to discover vast beech forests, preserved landscapes and exceptional Pyrenees panoramas. Dedicated snowshoe trails allow both family walks and sporty excursions through calm, protected nature. The Somport Space offers modern facilities: a renovated reception centre in natural materials (wood and stone) values the environment. On-site visitors benefit from equipment hire (cross-country skis, snowshoes, toboggans), a fun toboggan area for families and a transborder Nordic ski school offering cross-country courses, skating initiation and laser biathlon.
