Located on the commune of Entremont-le-Vieux, the Desert d’Entremont Nordic ski area is a preserved gem of the Chartreuse Regional Nature Park. Perched on a plateau at 1,200 metres altitude, the site offers total immersion in a silent and enchanting nature, where the majesty of the surrounding summits — such as the Granier or the Dent de Crolles — meets the gentleness of rolling landscapes. The site offers around 45 kilometres of groomed trails, accessible in both classic and skating technique. The layout alternates between muffled passages through deciduous and conifer forests and crossings of large sun-drenched clearings. Nordic skiers of all levels find what they are looking for, from green loops ideal for first attempts to more technical routes. Experienced skiers will want to take on the famous Monfred black run, renowned for its length and demands — rewarding with striking panoramas including Mont Blanc on clear days. Beyond cross-country skiing, the site is a genuine gentle adventure playground: marked snowshoe routes, toboggan pistes for children and biathlon initiation areas. The site has all the necessary facilities: a warm welcome lodge for equipment hire, a warm room for well-earned breaks and nearby dining options.
