The La Ruchere Nordic ski area has 35 km of cross-country trails, in both classic and skating technique, graded from green to black. The routes cross the Arpison meadows, the Riondettes clearing and the large conifer forests. Maintenance is regular and snow quality remains good thanks to the altitude (up to 1,450 m) and the forest terrain. The ski area also offers 4 marked snowshoe routes (5 to 13 km), with viewpoints over the Chartreuse summits and highly immersive forest passages. A toboggan area is laid out for children. A warm welcome lodge provides equipment hire and refreshments. The site is labelled Nordic Alpes du Sud. La Ruchere is Nordic skiing in its simplest and purest form, just a short distance from Grenoble and Chambery.
