Thanks to its enclosed topography — a natural cold store — the ski area preserves cold, quality snow throughout the winter. The site is famous for its Tour de Glace — a unique 24-metre artificial structure, the only one of its kind in Europe, allowing ice climbing initiation and progression in a secure setting. For those who prefer to stay on the ground, the valley offers unusual experiences such as ski joering (horse-pulled skiing), pony sledge for children and dog sledding. The Nordic ski area is also educational: pedestrian and snowshoe routes allow you to observe local wildlife, including ibex often visible on the sunny slopes.
