The Aussois-Val Cenis Sardieres Nordic ski area offers an exceptional setting for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, with free access to its trails as a major advantage. Located on a sunny plateau (adret aspect) between 1,500 and 1,600 metres altitude, the site extends at the foot of the famous Monolithe de Sardieres — a 93-metre-high cargneule rock pinnacle. The ski area offers over 39 kilometres of cross-country trails, groomed and marked for both classic and skating technique. The 9 runs (2 green, 3 blue, 3 red, 1 black) wind through hook pines on the foothills of the Vanoise National Park, offering a natural and peaceful setting. For winter walkers, the Aussois-Sardieres Nordic ski area also has 5 marked snowshoe routes (around 20 km), allowing discovery of the village of Sardieres and an approach to the impressive Monolith.
